The Suitland Manor redevelopment is a 22-acre site within 1/2 mile of the Suitland Metro Station, located near the Census Bureau. The project is well positioned to take advantage of the over 14,000 Federal workers nearby. The County spent nearly $48 million to acquire the former Suitland Manor, assist tenants with relocation expenses to move to more suitable locations, and demolish the vacant structures. The vision for the site is a walkable, sustainable, transit oriented, mixed use, Town Center with 700 housing units and 76,000 square feet of retail.
The Redevelopment Authority anticipates completing the land entitlement planning by the Summer of 2015.
