The Health Department has identified a highly rated evidenced-based curriculum, entitled “Making a Difference,” targeting youth between the ages of 11-18 to implement in Prince George’s County. The "Making a Difference" curriculum consists of eight one-hour modules. The modules in this curriculum are designed to give adolescents the tools needed to reduce their risk of pregnancy, STIs and HIV/AIDS.
"Making a Difference!" is labeled an abstinence based curriculum because it focuses entirely on knowledge, attitudes, and skills that encourage and assist young people in establishing or maintaining abstinence in their relationships.
This curriculum can be taught by trained Health Department employees or staff from community-based and faith-based organizations can receive training to deliver the curriculum.
