More than 60% of deaths in Prince George's County are due to chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. Poor eating and physical inactivity contribute to overweight and obesity. Healthy eating includes consumption of appropriate portion sizes, fruits and vegetables. It also includes good fats, and reducing the consumption of salty foods, sugary drinks, and unhealthy fats.

Dine & Learn Program

Join us for an interactive and educational evening on how to take steps towards a healthier you! This free program will feature:
  • A step-by-step live cooking demonstration led by a registered dietitian who will guide you through the ease and tastefulness of healthy cooking.
  • Food samples and recipes to try at home.
  • A nutrition discussion from a registered dietitian who will provide simple every day tips for healthier meal choices.
  • Fun and easy moves that keep you active for life.
  • Blood pressure screening.
