The Fee Waiver application deadline has ended, so only those who applied on or before April 14th may complete the process for free. However, all interested vendors may apply for a Mobile Food Service Facility Permit or a Special Food Service Facility Mobile Unit License, but the current fee schedule will apply and all fees must be paid.​

Process

STEP 1: Pre-Approval

The application deadline for Fee Waivers has ended. However, you may still apply for a Mobile Food Service Facility Permit or a Special Food Service Facility Mobile Unit License, but the current fee schedule will apply and all fees must be paid.

STEPS 2 & 3:

Inspection Approvals -- All those who applied on or before April 14th will need to get their inspections completed by June 30th.

​Obtain Health and Fire Inspection approvals by June 30th.

STEP 4: Receive License to Vend

Return to DPIE's Licensing Center with approved Health Department Inspection and Fire Department Proof of Review to receive license to vend at approved Food Truck Hubs for one year from date of issue.

STEP 5: Contact Coordinators (optional)

Contact licensed Food Truck Hub Coordinators (PDF) to arrange vending opportunities.

STEP 6: Vend At Least 4+ Hours

Vend at least 4 times (3+ hours each) in a Food Truck Hub, take proof (sign-off by Hub Coordinator) to DPIE to upgrade your Special Food Service Facilities - Mobile Unit License from Hub only Vend to Hub + Special Events Vending for the remainder of the license year. (Coordination/approval with special event managers still required)

Purpose

Prince George's County has implemented a Food Truck Hub Program to:
  • Increase access to food options
  • Encourage economic development and community revitalization
  • Promote innovative entrepreneurship
A Food Truck Hub is an outdoor area in which 2 or more mobile units cluster together to sell freshly prepared food. There can be freshly prepared food. There can be up to 12 hubs in the county. A Food Truck Hub License will be issued on a yearly basis to a Hub Coordinator.
