Clean Up Green Up

Clean Up Green Up logo

Each spring and fall, Prince George’s County host a countywide community clean up program. This event supports our initiative to make our community cleaner and greener by conducting individual community plantings and coordinating beautification activities throughout the County. “Clean Up, Green Up,” in collaboration with Keep Prince George’s County Beautiful, Prince George’s County Public Schools and the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, demonstrates our shared commitment to keeping our communities appealing and attractive.

Community organizations and groups are encouraged to participate by planning early in each season. Resources are available to help provide landscaping ideas, planting materials, proper planting instructions for trees, shrubs and flowers, as well as litter collection supplies.

Terms & Conditions to Participate

This is a volunteer program. Participants should understand that this beautification and street litter pickup activity provides an opportunity for community organizations, schools and businesses to partner with Prince George’s County Government to celebrate community pride, volunteerism and commitment to our neighborhoods. The plant material and mulch provided by the County must only be installed in public areas. It is the responsibility of the community organization to regularly water, weed and mulch once the plant material has been installed.

Community Service Hours

Prince George’s County Public School students who would like to earn service learning hours by volunteering at the community clean up may pick up the forms in their school’s guidance office and have them signed by the clean up coordinator at their site.
