Professional Standards & Compliance

The Office of Professional Standards and Compliance is responsible for:

  • Providing management advisory and consultation services in the area Departmental discipline and supervisory roles/responsibilities in the disciplinary process
  • Providing investigatory services concerning alleged misconduct and/or performance issues
  • Preparation of preliminary disciplinary documents for managers and formal disciplinary documents for the Office of the Fire Chief
  • Representing the Department in Personnel Board and Unemployment Compensation hearings ensuring that the Department's interests are properly established
  • Providing training regarding discipline, due process, and management
