Specifications and Benefits
- Employees are represented by the Police Civilian Employees Association Union (PCEA) & pay a service fee in amount of $10 per pay period;
- Positions @ OHS/PSC – “Trainee” (entry level), EDA, Sr. EDA (P15 = 5%) after 5 yrs. of continuous service. “Trainee” (entry level), ED I/II, ED III (Asst. Shift Supervisor + Quality Assurance) ED IV (Shift Supervisor);
- Shift Differentials - First Shift (2300 hrs to 0700 hrs) $2.40 per hr. & Third Shift (1500 hrs to 2300 hrs) $2.00 per hr.;
- Holiday Pay - 2 times regular rate of pay for each hr. worked (except OT) & if holiday falls on RDO, receive another day off;
- Overtime Pay - 1.5 times regular rate of pay or elect to receive compensatory leave at the same rate;
- Trainer Pay - $1.50 per hr.; ED I/II Cross Trainer Pay – 5% of certification pay;
- Bi-Lingual Pay - $1,400.00 per year (successfully complete a proficiency exam);
- Break time(s)- one (1) twenty-five (25) minute break + one (1) forty-five (45) minute unpaid meal period per shift;
- Allowance(s) –
- Clothing = eight (8) uniform shirts when hired & four (4) new shirts per year thereafter;
- Headset = $50.00 annually;
- Map Book = one (1) per work station annually;
- Accrued Leave –
- Annual = four (4.0) hrs. per pay period;
- Sick = four and on-half (4.5) hrs. per pay period;
- Personal = sixteen (16) hrs. per calendar year;
- Discretionary Leave = one (1) day per calendar year;
- Military Leave – fifteen (15) days per calendar year (Supplemental Deployment Leave);
- Employee Assistance Program; Credit Union; Direct Deposit; and Deferred Compensation Plans are available to all personnel
- State of the Art Facility/Smoke Free Work Environment /Building Security System;
- Maryland State Retirement System Plan. – The Rule of 90 (sum of age + eligibility service = 90); Age 65 with 10 yrs. eligibility service; or Age 60 with 15 yrs. eligibility service.
