Prince George's County is committed to awarding 30 percent of its procurement dollars to certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBE)
Minority Business Enterprise Certification
MBE's certified with Prince George's County are eligible to receive tangible benefits of the program.
If your company is currently an MBE certified by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) or the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), the County's Supplier Development and Diversity Division of the Office of Central Services will make a determination concerning your eligibility as an MBE in Prince George's County. Only firms that are at least 51% owned and controlled by minority individuals qualify. Minority individuals are defined as:
- African Americans
- Asian Americans
- Hispanic Americans
To obtain MBE certification you must:
- Contact either MDOT (1-800-544-6056) or WMATA (202-962-1082) for an application.
- Contact the Prince George's County Office of Procurement and complete a Bidder's List Application (301-883-6400). Businesses who have an application on file will automatically receive notices of solicitations.
- Contact Supplier Development and Diversity Division and provide a copy
of your MBE certification from MDOT or WMATA and a copy of your Bidder's
