Inmate Property and Clothes Exchange
When an inmate is processed in to the Correctional Center, all personal items, except court papers, are taken from the individual. No packages or books will be accepted into the facility, but inmates have access to a Commissary, pleasure library, law library and religious materials once they are classified out of Intake Housing.
The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections allows an inmate to exchange personal clothing for court purposes. An inmate is allowed only one exchange. To exchange clothing, the inmate must have a Property Exchange Form on file with the Property Unit 24 hours in advance of the exchange. Court clothing, such as church-type items, is acceptable and allowable. Tennis shoes, boots and sweatpants are not allowed for exchange purposes.
