Redirect Examination- The stage at trial in which the party that presents a witness asks the witness additional questions, immediately following the opposing party’s questioning of the witness on cross-examination. Generally, questions asked on redirect examination are designed to clarify the testimony given during cross-examination.
Released on Personal Recognizance - When the court determines that a defendant is likely to appear in court as required by law, bail may be deemed unnecessary and the defendant is released without posting bail.
Remand - In serious cases when the court determines that a defendant is likely to flee the jurisdiction of the court, the court may determine that bail should not be offered. Remanded defendants remain in custody.
Restitution - Court-ordered payment to a victim of a crime to restore what was taken during the crime.
