Stand Up & Deliver: Food Distribution
(In-person program)
Participants work outdoors to assist with packing, staging, and distributing food boxes at various distribution hubs throughout Prince George’s County.6 weeks$10.65 per hour40
Aviation Program: Career Exploration
(Virtual program)
Participants explore careers in aviation from professionals working in the Federal Aviation Administration, such as air traffic controllers, pilots, drone operators, and flight instructors.  4 weeks$200 total60
Parks & Recreation
(In-person program)

Participants work outdoors in customer service opportunities including, but not limited to: 

  1. Swimming pool assistant - checking in guests and checking water pH levels.

  2. Grab & Go assistant– food distribution for residents.

  3. Youth sports assistant – assist in opening and closing ball fields, assisting guests, and cleaning fields after use.

Advocacy and Arts

Participants learn advocacy skills and lessons through the arts:

  1. She the People - Youth advocacy group discusses the political learning process.

  2. An Arts Project - Participants engage in a lesson regarding arts and create a project.

Participants explore various career options and job readiness training and participate in enrichment activities to include virtual field trips and college visits.4 weeks$200 total140

Participants receive a combination of job readiness training, career exploration, guest speakers from in-demand fields, perform independent and group projects, and real-life work activities to give participants opportunities to dive deeply into planning for their careers.4 weeks$200 total30

Quinn Cook Virtual Basketball Training 
(Virtual program)

Participants learn more than just basketball, they are taught teamwork, consideration of others, self-discipline, workout routines, and how to reach their potential on and off the court. Participants also learn the importance of achieving good grades and choosing positive role models.3 weeks$200 total25

Television, Radio & Social Media Production            (Virtual program)

Participants produce, direct, and write a 30-second public service announcement that will be broadcast and featured on various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter).3 weeks$200 total25
Youth Entrepreneur Academy - Teenpreneur Business
(Virtual program)
Participants lead productive, successful, and purposeful business enterprises and experience meaningful business situations that are not only profitable, but also serve the people of Prince George’s County in an ethical, better business environment. Participants will produce a business plan, complete a presentation in front of a panel of experienced professionals, and the top three plans will be recognized.3 weeks$200 total25
Trade Skills: Barber, Cosmetology & Culinary

Participants learn how to operate safe workplace practices, employable and proper skills, tools, materials, work environments, culture and career options for barbering, cosmetology, and other small businesses. There are self-directed online modules, real time teaching, and steps for operating a trade business for participants to help build their knowledge and develop their skills in the trades.3 weeks$200 total25
