Next Generation Scholars Cohort: Career Readiness and Exploration | Participants explore various career options and job readiness training and participate in enrichment activities to include virtual field trips and college visits. | 4 weeks | $200 total | 140 |
Summer of Success: Job Readiness Training | Participants receive a combination of job readiness training, career exploration, guest speakers from in-demand fields, perform independent and group projects, and real-life work activities to give participants opportunities to dive deeply into planning for their careers. | 4 weeks | $200 total | 30 |
Quinn Cook Virtual Basketball Training | Participants learn more than just basketball, they are taught teamwork, consideration of others, self-discipline, workout routines, and how to reach their potential on and off the court. Television, Radio & Social Media Production (Virtual program) | Participants produce, direct, and write a 30-second public service announcement that will be broadcast and featured on various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter). | 3 weeks | $200 total | 25 |
Youth Entrepreneur Academy - Teenpreneur Business (Virtual program) | Participants lead productive, successful, and purposeful business enterprises and experience meaningful business situations that are not only profitable, but also serve the people of Prince George’s County in an ethical, better business environment. Participants will produce a business plan, complete a presentation in front of a panel of experienced professionals, and the top three plans will be recognized. | 3 weeks | $200 total | 25 |
Trade Skills: Barber, Cosmetology & Culinary (Virtual program) | Participants learn how to operate safe workplace practices, employable and proper skills, tools, materials, work environments, culture and career options for barbering, cosmetology, and other small businesses. There are self-directed online modules, real time teaching, and steps for operating a trade business for participants to help build their knowledge and develop their skills in the trades. | 3 weeks | $200 total | 25 |
