Reasons to Update Your Beneficiary

Life is inevitable and changes occur. When changes occur, your beneficiary choices may need to be updated. The Beneficiary Update Campaign is to ensure that your life insurance beneficiaries are up to date.

  • Eliminate confusion about what should be done with your hard-earned money or insurance proceeds.
  • Save time -- without a beneficiary, there may be a delay in transferring funds.
  • Give your loved ones peace of mind and a sense of financial wellness

Update or Review Your Beneficiary

Act now and review your beneficiaries for your Basic Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, or your Supplemental Life Insurance, Pensions benefits, and 457(b) plans.

Log on to Employee Self Service and select "Any Time Changes" to update your beneficiaries. For more information on how to update your beneficiary in Employee Self Service, please review our Quick Reference Guide

Retired Prince George's County Government employees can update their beneficiaries by completing a Beneficiary Update Form.
