Pursuant to County Code Division 15 Section 26-163.02. - Outstanding traffic and parking violation notices; impoundment.
Effective Monday, May 1, 2023, the Revenue Authority will begin using an immobilization device called the “Barnacle” to immobilize vehicles that have the following:
- Two or more outstanding or otherwise unsettled traffic and/or parking violation notices that have not been paid with in ninety (90) days of the date of the notice of violation.
The “Barnacle” is an after-pay, self-release immobilization device that must be removed from the windshield of a vehicle and returned to a designated drop-off location within 24 hours of paying the fines and/or fees or the vehicle owner will receive an additional fine.
