Prince George's County Clear the Curb Waste Collection Programs modernize and streamline residential services for more than 175,000 residents. County residents who are eligible to participate in our waste collection programs receive ONE free, wheeled trash, recycling and organics cart to help ensure items are properly disposed of. 

Bulky Trash Collection - NEW!

If you receive County trash and recycling services, beginning February 14, 2022, residents can put out up to two items of regular bulky trash, with your regular trash collection - no appointment needed! See all the details here.

Residential Recycling

The Resource Recovery Division provides curbside recycling collection for more than 175,000 County residents and citizens.

Trash Collection

The Resource Recovery Division provides trash collection service to approximately 175,000 homes in the county. Citizens and residents in the county-contracted collection areas should place their trash containers at the front curb by 6 a.m. on their regularly scheduled collection day.

Yard Trim Collection

Weekly curbside collection of yard trim is collected year-round. Yard trim includes grass clippings, leaves, small branches, brush, Christmas trees, and now, food scraps. Please note, that effective January 1, 2014, residential curbside yard trim collection is no longer accepted in plastic bags.
