Bureau of Field Operations
The Assistant Sheriff, Chief of Bureau of Field Operations, is an executive level position under the direct leadership of the Chief Assistant Sheriff. The Assistant Sheriff for this bureau is responsible for overseeing Warrant Operations, Domestic Violence Intervention, and Civil Operations.
Warrant Operations
Warrant / Fugitive Division
Responsible for investigating, apprehending and presenting wanted persons before judicial officers for Prince George’s County, MD. This division is also responsible for coordinating and executing all extraditions.
Teletype & Records Division (TTY)
In addition to receiving and logging all of the agency’s warrants, the TTY section is responsible for faxing warrants to outside agencies for suspects captured in outside jurisdictions.
TTY sends teletypes to other Law Enforcement agencies for; wanted persons, training notices, purges received from the Maryland State Police, recall orders, administrative messages, and nationwide broadcasts.
TTY is also responsible for maintaining departmental logs, answering incoming calls for general information, and operating the agencies MILES/NCIC and CJIS computers systems.

Domestic Violence Intervention Division (DVID)
Responsible for the 24 hour a day, 7 day a week response to No. 911 calls for domestic violence in police District III. This unit is also responsible for serving court ordered peace and protective orders throughout Prince George’s County. DVID deputies also assist with domestic stand-by calls, and they provide additional resources to victims of domestic violence.
Community Services/Victim Advocate Unit (SVA)
Comprised of trained, experienced support staff which provide support to domestic violence victims through early intervention, and help with navigating the court processes. SVA’s are located in both the Upper Marlboro and Hyattsville Courthouses, and can be reached at 301-780-8426.
Civil Operations
Civil Landlord & Tenant Division
Responsible for serving court ordered process throughout Prince George’s County, MD. This division is also responsible for the service of over 150,000 court summonses a year for non-payment of rent. The unit enforces final foreclosure orders and nearly 36,000 warrants of restitution (eviction orders) yearly.

Child Support Enforcement Division
The division is tasked with pursuing delinquent parents in child support cases. Since its inception in 1981, the unit has served over 45,000 child support warrants.
