Children 6 months and older eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations

i. The FDA and CDC authorized and recommended Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for children 6 months and older. The Health Department encourages families, especially those with young children, get vaccinated at their pediatrician’s office where the environment is more familiar and comfortable. The COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective. Before it was authorized for children across age groups, scientists and medical experts reviewed safety and effectiveness data from clinical trials involving thousands of children. Vaccination is the best way to protect children from COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccine for these ages will also be available at department clinics by appointment only, retail pharmacies, federally qualified health centers and other health care providers across the County and the State. Visit health.mypgc.us/covidvaccine or covidvax.maryland.gov to locate a nearby clinic and make an appointment. Residents may also call Maryland’s GoVAX Call Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX.
