Youth Strategies & Reentry Services
The Community Re-Entry Services program includes a referral service for returning citizens who were incarcerated in local, state and federal facilities. Services include assisting returning citizens with linkages to agencies providing housing, health and human services, employment opportunities, GED support/ counseling/testing preparation, government ID/birth certificates, expungement, and federal bonding.
In order to participate in the program, citizens must have no further pending charges and must reside in Prince George’s County. Citizens can be referred from the Prince George’s Department of Corrections or any other correctional facility, government agency, community non-profit, or through contacting 301-909-6163 directly.
This program provides services to prevent and reduce juvenile substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, and addresses the needs of juveniles involved in or at risk of entering the juvenile justice system. It also assists with scholarship and internship information, summer camps, after school programs and job information for youth and residents. For more information, call 301-909-6163.
Youth Service Bureaus
Youth Service Bureaus (YSBs) are community based, multi-service prevention programs serving youth and families. All YSBs are either incorporated non-profits with Boards of Directors, or they are considered part of local government and have advisory boards.
