Language Access Compliance Program

Information for Speakers of Other Languages

Prince George's County law requires that we provide access and participation in government services to all people. The Language Access Compliance Program ensures people can access County government resources in the language they are most comfortable speaking.

We offer free interpretation and document translation.

How to File a Language Access Discrimination Complaint

Any person or organization may file a discrimination inquiry. You do not have to be the person who experienced language access discrimination to inquire. An initial interview with the person impacted will be held to determine whether to start an official complaint.

The Office of Human Rights handles the complaint process. This includes:

  1. Submitting an inquiry online or in person
  2. Initial interview
  3. Charges
  4. An attempt to settle with all parties involved
  5. Further investigation into the complaint
  6. Decision
  7. Corrective action
