Prince George’s County Holiday Closings for New Year’s Day

Prince George's County government offices will close on Monday, January 1, 2024, in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday.

Residents with County-provided organic collections are advised to line their green-wheeled carts with absorbent material such as paper towels, paper napkins, newspaper, pizza boxes, or leaves to help soak up odor and moisture. Transportation

The Bus | Status: Not Operating

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not operate on Monday, January 1, 2024. Regular operations of TheBus resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. 

Call-A-Bus and PGC Link | Status: Not Operating

Additionally, the County’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Monday, January 1, 2024.  Regular operations of the County’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.  

 

Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement

Status: Closed

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

 

PGC311

Status: Operating Online Only

Also, PGC311 will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024, and will return to regular operations on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.  However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at PGC311.com.
