Reasons for Parking Tickets/Citations
Vehicles may not be cited for the following reasons:
Warning Citation (no violation):
Vehicle has moved or has come into compliance since the warning was issued.
Vehicle has moved within 72 hours:
The mentioned vehicle currently does not qualify for a 72 hour fine under the guidelines of the Revenue Authority’s code. The vehicle was thoroughly investigated at the complaint location, and did not show sufficient signs of debris, multiple flat tires, expired/no registration plates, missing major mechanical components or partially dismantled, wrecked or junked, which would determine and show valid evidence of being parked over 72 hours on county roadway.
Historic Tag response:
A vehicle registered as historic cannot be used for general daily transportation, or primarily for the transportation of passengers or property on highways. Vehicle has valid historic tags.
Not considered a Commercial Vehicle:
In accordance with Prince George's County Code 26-123 (COMMERCIAL VIOLATION) a vehicle must meet the weight requirement of 10,000 lbs. or more to be cited as a commercial vehicle parked on residential roadway. The vehicle mentioned in the original complaint does not meet the specified weight requirement.
Contractor Roadway:
Regarding the complaint, it is deemed not to be within the boundaries designated for the Revenue Authority of Prince George's County to enforce and cite vehicles. The above-mentioned street has not been accepted by Prince Georges County (for maintenance), therefore it is still considered “contractor roadway”. This service request would need to be forwarded to the developer or Prince Georges County Police Department for further review or investigation.
State Maintained Road:
Regarding the complaint, is deemed not to be within the boundaries designated for the Revenue Authority of Prince George's County to enforce and cite vehicles. The above-mentioned street is State maintained. Please contact State or County Police.
Private property:
This vehicle/complaint is located on private property (HOA/Apartment Complex). The Revenue Authority cannot enforce or issue citations on private property. Please contact the tow company assigned to your complex or Prince George’s County Police.
Municipality:
