Dental Services for Seniors
Below is a list of companies from the Maryland Insurance Administration that offer stand-alone dental insurance in Maryland. Some of these plans are selling on the Maryland Health Connection, but since no subsidies are available, you should inquire directly with the company.
Medicare Advantage (Medicare HMOs) may cover dental care for an additional premium. The companies that are available in Prince George's County are listed in the back of your "Medicare and You" book under "Medicare Health Plans." Medicare HMOs are a different way to manage your Medicare so you have to make sure your doctor is in the network for the plan you select and that the costs are something that make sense for your budget before switching. If you have a supplemental insurance policy (Medigap policy), you cannot use it with a Medicare Advantage plan.
