Jessica Anderson-Preston Appointed as Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Prince George's County

LARGO, MD – Monday, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced the appointment of Jessica Anderson-Preston as the new Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Prince George’s County (HAPGC). With over 25 years of experience in affordable housing and organizational management, Ms. Anderson-Preston brings a wealth of expertise to lead the agency. 

In her most recent role as Executive Director at Rockville Housing Enterprises, Ms. Anderson-Preston demonstrated transformative leadership, overseeing a multi-million real estate development and property management agency with approximately 600 units across 5 developments. Among her accomplishments, Ms. Anderson-Preston elevated the agency's PHAS scores from "Substandard" to "High Performer" status and secured approximately $440,000 in annual Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) tax abatements for 357 affordable units.  

The HAPGC Board approved Ms. Anderson-Preston's appointment during its November 20th public meeting. As the Executive Director of HAPGC, she will oversee an annual budget of approximately $95M. Her strategic vision and commitment to excellence align with HAPGC's mission to provide quality affordable housing solutions in Prince George's County. She begins work on February 12, 2024.

Ms. Anderson-Preston's extensive experience also includes roles at Rockville Housing Enterprises, ICF International Inc., Anderson Housing Development LLC, and Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Marketing from Xavier University of Louisiana and is certified as a Housing Finance Development Professional by the National Development Council.

HAPGC operates within the economic development cluster of agencies overseen by DCAO Rodgers, collaborating regularly with various cluster agencies and related County departments to enhance community development.
