Employee and Volunteer Assistance Programs (EAP and VAP)

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the Volunteer Assistance Program (VAP) provide vital services to the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department.  The programs coordinate a wide range of counseling support options for the members of the Department, as well as retirees.  These services help to ensure that members are psychologically fit to perform essential job functions, and that the work force is mentally healthy. 
The key to the success of these programs is the confidentiality in which Fire/EMS EAP/VAP counselors assess and navigate “clients” down pathways that lead to a more healthy functionality and emotionality.
