Ambulance Billing

Ambulance billing is handled by Change Healthcare / Optum, and for law firms they utilize a HIPAA compliant platform called ChartSwap to receive and respond to billing information requests.  To create an account and submit requests, visit https://www.chartswap.com/ and:

  1. Register as a "Record Requestor".
  2. Sign in and search for Prince George's County. Once you select Prince George's County, enter the request details and upload all supporting documents. 
  3. Optum/Change Healthcare is a third-party billing company that provides billing services for may other departments, so the submitted authorizations must be addressed to both Prince George's County and Change Healthcare, LLC. An example of this would be:
    1. Change Healthcare, LLC, billing custodian for Prince George's County.
  4. Once your request has been reviewed and records are available, you will receive a notification and invoice if applicable, which can be paid with a check, a credit card or debit card.

DO NOT SEND EMS RECORD REQUESTS TO CHANGE HEALTHCARE.
