Family Services Welcomes Warren Wilson
It is with great pleasure to announce that Warren W. Wilson has joined the Department of Family Services Aging and Disabilities Services Division as our new Senior Planner. Warren will be replacing this management role formerly held by Karen Sylvester, who is now the Associate Director for Aging and Disabilities Services/Area Agency on Aging Director for Prince George’s County. Warren will be responsible for all planning functions within the Aging and Disabilities Services Division, including the Aging Annual Plan, contract management, program analysis, project development, and assisting with budget development and tracking.
Warren most recently worked for the County’s Department of Housing and Community Development, where he served as the Housing Ombudsman Coordinator. Before coming to Prince George’s County, Warren worked for the Centralian Area Agency on Aging in Charlotte, North Carolina, as an Aging Program Specialist. During his tenure there, he was responsible for implementing programs and services for the elderly in a nine-county region. Warren was a key player during the pandemic, where he developed the Pandemic Response Plan and was the point of contact for all CARES funding initiatives. Warren developed compliance policies and procedures pertaining to the statewide operations of all adult care homes and family care homes during his tenure at the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR).
Warren’s educational background includes a Master’s in Public Administration as well as a Master’s Degree in Gerontology. He also holds certificates in Care Management, is a Certified Assisted Living Administrator for the State of North Carolina and has served as a certified Ombudsman.
