What is SHIP?

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a free, unbiased, and confidential counseling service that helps Medicare beneficiaries and their families navigate their healthcare options. SHIP is a federally funded program designed to provide one-on-one assistance, education, and advocacy to individuals who need help understanding Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance options.

The mission of SHIP is to empower and educate Medicare beneficiaries by providing accurate, unbiased, and up-to-date information so they can make informed healthcare decisions.

 

In Prince George’s County, SHIP is committed to:
