Prince George’s County Celebrates Graduation of Career Recruit School 67

Members of Fire/EMS Recruit Class 67

"Today, we celebrate the accomplishments of our newest firefighters and paramedics who have completed a demanding training program," said County Executive Angela Alsobrooks. "Their commitment to public safety and service will undoubtedly strengthen our community and save lives."

Career Recruit School 67 endured extensive training in Firefighter I and II, Emergency Medical Technician skills, Firefighter Safety and Survival, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Emergency Vehicle Operations. Despite challenging outdoor conditions, the ceremony proceeded with pride and honor, highlighted by a moving keynote address from Fire Chief Tiffany D. Green.

"As Fire Chief, I am immensely proud of these graduates," Chief Tiffany D. Green remarked. "They represent the future of our fire service, embodying courage, compassion, and professionalism. Their dedication to excellence will uphold our department's mission to protect and serve."

Career Recruit School 67 graduated twenty-nine (29) students on July 16, 2024, at the beautiful outdoor Plaza at National Harbor. Although the outdoor temperatures were elevated, this did not hinder the ceremony as recruits marched in with the echoes of a lone bagpiper. Hundreds of family members, friends, and Fire/EMS Department Command Staff members cheered as the new firefighters received their badges, certificates, and awards. To highlight the ceremony, Fire Chief Tiffany D. Green provided the keynote speech, as she was proud to encourage the next generation of Prince George's County firefighters as the future leaders of the fire service.

With a strong commitment to hiring additional firefighters, fifty-three (53) new firefighters started Career Recruit School 68 training on June 3, 2024. We are also proud to announce that County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks has approved the hiring of an additional one hundred and fifty (150) firefighters in Fiscal Year 2025, which is the largest single-year improvement to career firefighter staffing in the history of Prince George's County.
