Foster Care & Adoption Services
There are many children in foster care that need strong and supportive families. We are always looking for permanent homes for county youth.
What is Foster Care?
Foster care is setup to give temporary care for children in need of help. In most cases, children are placed in foster care by child welfare agencies. Children can also be voluntarily placed when circumstances, such as serious illness, prevent their parents from caring for them.
Families wishing to adopt a child may serve as foster parents for them until the adoption is complete.
What is Adoption?
Adoption is to legally take on the role of parent for a child who is not your biological child. Adopted children become full members of the adopting household.
Adoption can bring a positive end to a challenging situation. It also offers benefits to everyone involved. Support services are available for families after the adoption is complete.
