Commercial Property Improvement Program

Program Overview:

The Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County Commercial Property Improvement Program (CPIP) was established to assist retail shopping centers, owners of retail centers and main street retail space with exterior and major building systems improvements that would enhance the marketability, competitiveness, and viability of the retail center. Maryland Park and Planning performed a comprehensive retail market study of 207 retail centers county wide in 2017, which resulted in the launching of the CPIP program in 2019.

Program Goals:

The goal of the program is to boost the economic performance of obsolete and underperforming retail centers, especially in the cases of retail centers and spaces located in strong trade areas with high visibility. This will be done by providing grant incentives to improve

appearance and enhance the retail experience for Prince George’s County residents.

Minimum Grant Request: $50,000/Maximum Grant Request:$350,000
