STATUS OF STATION 831 BUILDING ASSESSMENT

May 10, 2024

Location:

Beltsville Fire/EMS Station 831

4911 Prince Georges Ave.

Beltsville, MD 20705

The Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department continues to work towards the completion of the third-party facilities assessment of the Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department Inc.

On April 26, 2024, the Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department leadership met with the assessment vendor to discuss the completion status of the station assessment report.  On May 2, 2024, Fire/EMS Department leadership, as well as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO) Barry Stanton, and Office of Central Services (OCS) Director Jonathan Butler met with the assessment vendor to discuss the report, at which time the vendor advised that the report remains unfinished, with two outstanding incomplete components; (1) a cost estimation/analysis for repairs, and (2) an inspection of the fuel pumps on the property. The station assessment report is expected to be completed within approximately two weeks.

The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department has procured and received the temporary trailers and all necessary permits to install living quarters onsite. The installation of the trailers, with the necessary foundation work and utilities, is on hold pending a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department Inc., and Prince George’s County.

The Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department remains committed to working with the leadership of the Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department. The safety and security of our members and the residents of Prince George’s County remain our top priority.
