October 12, 2022 - In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Prince George’s County Office of Human Rights presented Celebrating Latino Achievement. This one-hour virtual, bilingual event highlighted two distinguished Hispanic Prince Georgians for their accomplishments and service to the County: advocate and civic leader Ashanti Martinez and Prince George’s County Board of Education student member Alvaro Ceron-Ruiz. The panel also featured artist MISS CHELOVE, a native of Prince George's County whose work has been inspired by the diversity of the local community. Celebrating Latino Achievement recognized the rich and meaningful way our Hispanic and Latin neighbors positively impact Prince George’s County, highlights the diversity of the County, and reflected on the impact and inspiration the Hispanic and Latin diaspora provides for the community as a whole.
