In This Space program is designed to support the LGBTQ+ community in Prince George's County, focusing on safe spaces, healthcare, and mental health access.

These initiatives aim to foster a more inclusive, healthy, and supportive environment for the LGBTQ+ residents of Prince George's County.

We will unveil more programs and services as a part of the In this Space Initiative.  These programs have been designed and thoughtfully curated to support, engage, and reassure our LGBTQIA+ Community members that they are:

Safe...In this Space,

Meet the LGBTQIA+ Liaison

County Executive Angela Alsobrooks with LGBTQIA+ Affairs Liaison, Antonio Driver

It is an honor to be the first Prince George’s County Executive to create a position for the first ever Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+) Liaison. Working under the Office of Stakeholder Engagement and Affairs, the LGBTQIA+ Liaison serves as a vital connector between our County Government and the LGBTQIA+ Community.  I created the role after meeting with members of the community.  During those meetings, I heard the concerns about the lack of a position to support the needs of the community in our County.

Over the past year, we have impaneled a Community Advisory Committee who have made recommendations on ways to engage the LGBTQIA+ Community, increase visibility, and create more opportunities for connection to the County government.  Those recommendations were carefully considered and formed the basis of our new initiative, In this Space.
