Faith Based Initiatives

The Faith-Based Liaison Officer is responsible for building and maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship of respect and trust with the faith based community by having positive communication and interactions around matters of concern between the agency and the community we serve.

Some of the positive interactions we have had with our faith community is as follows:

•    Annual Faith and Blue Weekend:  A weekend of resolution and reconciliation through a collaborative effort to build bridges within the community

•    Citizen Police Academy for Clergy:  Covering topics such as Crisis Intervention, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking and Police Use of Force

•    Gun Buy Back Initiatives in partnership local churches:   Rewards are in the form of gift cards with participants remaining anonymous
