Prince Georges County's TheBus

Welcome to Prince George’s County Transit System - known as TheBus!

Prince George's County operates TheBus, a County bus service, to meet local transportation needs of its residents and visitors. TheBus' fixed route system consists of 28 routes that cover more than 10,000 miles throughout the County. TheBus operates Monday through Saturday. No services are provided during major holidays (New Year's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day).

All TheBus and Call-A-Bus services are accessible and accept use of portable oxygen, respirators, and concentrators.

TheBus Service: 6:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Customer Information: 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Operating Essential Service from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, except on Federal and County Holidays. Please see bus schedules page for the latest timetable for routes in service. Face coverings required.

Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is committed to providing a safe experience for all services “TheBus”, “Call-A-Bus” and “PGC Link” riders and our employees and operators.

While masks are no longer required on public transportation in Prince George’s County, they are still highly recommended. The federal mask requirement order is no longer in effect, however the CDC recommends that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings. (Read more)

Health officials advise that properly wearing face masks, covering both nose and mouth, will assist with limiting the spread of COVID-19 and Influenza during cold seasons. Free masks will be provided by DPW&T on all routes to passengers that wish to wear a mask but do not have one of their own.
