Residential Street Sweeping Program
Phase I Operations to Begin Tuesday, September 3rd
The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) will offer Residential Street Sweeping for the first time in Prince George's County's history!
The Residential Street Sweeping Program, a Proud Priority of the Alsobrooks Administration, will significantly reduce the amount of debris along residential roadways, helping to prevent litter buildup and mitigate potential pollutants in our ecosystem. This exciting new program, set to launch in September 3, 2024, will be implemented in two phases and cover over 2,000 total curb miles.

New Signage and Yellow Tape in Neighborhoods
As DPW&T prepares for regular street sweeping, you may notice new signs in your neighborhood. While it is important to ensure our sweeper trucks are ready to deploy, we are equally committed to providing residents with important information to ensure the successful implementation of this program. Neighborhood signage will serve as a reminder of what days your street will be swept and where to access additional information. On some streets you may also notice yellow caution tape – do not be alarmed. It is part of our preliminary process, and once complete, it will be removed.
We look forward to your involvement in our efforts to maintain clean residential streets and create healthier communities for us all.
