TheBus runs regular service between Monday and Friday, except on most Federal Holidays. For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Native American Day and Veteran’s Day, the Prince George’s County TheBus system runs a regular weekday schedule.

Saturday, November 7, 2020
Prince George’s County TheBus is excited to announce Saturday service on its existing active lines starting on November 7, 2020. Saturday service will be available on the Routes 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 26, 30, 32, 33, 35 and 36, which includes coverage in Langley Park, West Hyattsville, New Carrollton, Largo, Forestville, Camp Springs, Upper Marlboro and Brandywine.

Effective Monday, November 2, 2020, TheBus Route 13 will operate every 45 minutes.
Route 17 will operate every 30 minutes between 6:00 A.M - 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Service between 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. will operate every 45 minutes.
Route 36 will operate every 45 minutes.
All other active routes will continue to operate in accordance with the August 24, 2020 Public Notice.
Effective Monday, August 24th, 2020, TheBus Routes 13, 16, 17, 26, 28, 30, 32, 33, 35, and 36 will operates from 60 to 30-40 minute frequencies.
Routes 18, 20, 21, and 24 will continue to operate in 30 minute frequencies.
TheBus will also be restoring service on the Route 34, operating 15 minutes frequencies in the peak and 30 minute frequencies in the off-peak.
The Route 53 and 51 will be combine and operated as two separate loops - Route 51A and 51B. Route 51A will serve U.S. 301 and Village West. Route 51B will serve Dille Drive and John Rogers Boulevard.
Effective Monday, July 20, 2020, TheBus routes 20 and 21 will operate every 30 minutes between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The remaining active TheBus routes (13-B, 16, 17, 26, 28, 30, 33, 35, 36, and 37) will still operate every 60 minutes.
Effective Monday, June 22, 2020 TheBus routes 18, 24, and 32 will operate every 30 minutes. The remaining active TheBus routes (13-B, 16, 17, 20, 21, 26, 28, 30, 33, 35, 36, and 37) will still operate every 60 minutes.
For 30 days, starting on Monday, June 1, 2020, TheBus’ Route 18 will provide express service to the Rollingcrest Community Center between bus stops at 23rd Avenue and Sheridan Street and East-West Highway and Toledo Terrace. Passengers should allow for additional travel time between Lewisdale and the Prince George’s Plaza Metro Station. On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, the Route 18 will return back to its previous route pattern between Lewisdale and Prince George’s Plaza Metro Station.
Effective Wednesday, April 15, 2020, County Executive Angela Alsobrooks requires that ALL Prince George’s County Residents & Visitors must wear face coverings on ALL public transportation.
(You may use a homemade face covering like a bandanna, scarf, or t-shirt, or you may wear a disposable or cloth mask)
TheBus will operate a modified hourly service on routes 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 24, 28, 30, 32, 33, 35, 36, and 37. TheBus service will begin at 6:00 am with the last trips departing at or before 6:00 pm. Remaining county bus lines have been suspended.
TheBus will make further service reductions on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Routes 13 and 28 will run under the Loop B schedule only; Loop A service will be suspended. Route 26 will operate every 90 minutes. On this bus line, Largo Town Center Metro trips at 0:15 and 0:45 on the hour and Morgan Boulevard Metro trips at 0:00 and 0:30 on the hour will be suspended. On the Route 37, one morning trip at 7:02 am from Camp Springs and two afternoon trips (4:30 pm and 5:45 pm) from Southern Avenue Metro will be suspended.
TheBus will continue to suspend service on Routes 11, 12, 14, 15X, 23, 27, and 34, under Phase II, in addition to the bus lines already suspended (Routes 21X, 22, 25, 35S, 51, and 53) under Phase I. There will be no fare charged on TheBus routes in service until further notice. Also, to promote social distancing, TheBus will allow riders to enter and exit using the rear doors only. Exceptions will be made for the disabled and mothers with strollers.
Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, Prince George’s County "TheBus" will implement Phase II of service reductions on TheBus as fewer riders are expected to utilize services due to coronavirus (COVID-19).
Phase II service reductions include suspending transit service on routes 11, 12, 14, 15x, 23, 27 and 34 in addition to the bus lines already suspended ( routes 21X, 22, 25, 35S, 51, and 53). There will be no fare charged on TheBus routes in service until further notice. Also, to promote social distancing, TheBus requires riders to enter and exit using the rear doors only. Exceptions will be made for those with disabilities and parents with strollers.
