Commercial & Industrial Survey
The Department of the Environment (DoE) assists the non-regulated public, County and Municipal facilities by providing technical assistance for good housekeeping and stormwater pollution prevention. Our inspectors investigate and respond to water quality complaints that potentially could result in Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination action punishable by Maryland’s Department of the Environment. Additionally, DoE monitors industrial activities throughout the County via the Commercial/Industrial Visual Survey Program. When conducting visual surveys, if an inspector observes pollution or activity that can lead to pollution, that site is reported to MDE for the proper permitting and remediation protocols.
