Prince George’s County Announces Holiday Closings for New Year’s Day
County offices, with the exception of public safety agencies, will close on Monday, January 1, 2024, in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday
LARGO, MD – The Prince George’s County Department of the Environment (DoE) announces the following services and facilities will be closed or suspended on Monday, January 1, 2024:

Residents with County-provided organic collections are advised to line their green wheeled carts with absorbent material such as paper towels, paper napkins, newspaper, pizza boxes, or leaves to help soak up odor and moisture. TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), will not operate on Monday, January 1, 2024. Regular operations of TheBus resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Additionally, the County’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate on Monday, January 1, 2024. Regular operations of the County’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Also, PGC311 will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024, and will return to regular operations on Tuesday, January 2, 2023, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at PGC311.com.
