Nominations are Open for the Annual Waste Diversion and Recycling Annual Awards
The event recognizes businesses, schools, and individuals demonstrating exceptional achievement in source reduction.
Largo, MD - Nominations are open for the Prince George’s County Department of the Environment (DoE) and Keep Prince George’s County Beautiful (KPGCB) 5th Annual Waste Diversion and Recycling Virtual Awards. The awards recognize Prince George’s County commercial businesses, schools, and other entities that have demonstrated exceptional achievements in recycling and waste diversion to advance the mission of DoE and KPGCB. A virtual awards ceremony to recognize the winners will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A nomination form, including all relevant and supporting documentation, must be submitted on behalf of the nominee by Sunday, February 16, 2025, at midnight (11:59 PM). “This virtual ceremony recognizes and showcases our community businesses and schools committed to finding innovative ways to educate, as well as promote and activate recycling and waste management programs in Prince George’s County,” said Adriana Caldarelli, DoE Acting Director.
DoE works for a healthy, beautiful, and sustainable county through programs providing clean water, flood control, recycling and waste management, litter prevention, sustainable animal management, and pet adoption in partnership with Prince George’s County’s residents and stakeholders.
KPGCB is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that empowers individuals to take greater responsibility and action to create healthier, safer, and more livable communities. KPGCB partners with the Prince George’s County community to create a beautiful, litter-free environment and promote best waste management practices, including recycling and source reduction.
