Commercial & Industrial Property Enforcement

Nice commercial property of McDonalds, maintained exterior and clean parking lot

Prince George's County's Property Maintenance Code requires commercial and industrial property owners to maintain and keep their properties free of trash, litter and debris, including building exteriors and parking areas like the business shown above.

The County Code applies to all areas of Prince George’s County with the exceptions of properties located within the municipal boundaries of the cities of Bowie and Hyattsville. Contact the city office if there are concerns in either municipality.

County inspectors conduct periodic on-site inspections and respond to complaints about existing structures to ensure compliance.

In addition, undeveloped properties like the one shown above must be maintained free of trash, debris, and high grass and weeds (exceeding 12 inches in height). Report blighted properties to PGC311.
