Our medical assistance programs provide a wide range of services for residents who qualify. We offer insurance programs, case management, and transportation and personal care services.

 

Adult Evaluation Review Services

The Adult Evaluation Review Services (AERS) program evaluates the needs of elderly and chronically ill persons. AERS is staffed by County nurses and social workers and offers several services to Prince George's County residents.

Care for Kids

In Partnership with Kaiser Permanente, the Care for Kids program provides free healthcare services to uninsured children who live in Prince Georges County.

Maryland Children's Health Program

The Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) gives full health benefits for children up to age 19. MCHP enrollees obtain care from a variety of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) through the Maryland HealthChoice Program.

Medical Assistance Transportation Program

Non-Emergency Transportation services are available for residents who have no other means of getting to their medical appointments. Services are provided for Prince George’s County residents that have valid Medical Assistance cards.

Nurse Monitoring Program

Provides nurse monitoring services to individuals receiving personal care assistance and other services from home and community-based programs funded by the Maryland Department of Health
