Services
The Environmental Engineering/Policy Program performs enforcement inspections, evaluations and consultations on issues that contribute to the public health and preserve the quality of the air, land and waters of the county. Environmental Health Specialists assure sanitary installations of private wells and on-site sewage disposal systems. We also perform swimming pool inspections and respond to complaints related to environmental insults such as lead, asbestos, petroleum products, suspicious smoke and odors, smoking in public spaces and rodents.
Health Impact Assessments
The Program also performs Health Impact Assessments of all development projects in Prince George’s County submitted through the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
