Changes to Vital Records Office Hours
Effective immediately, the Vital Records office will be temporarily closed from Friday, April 19, 2024, until Friday, April 26, 2024. We will reopen on Monday, April 29, 2024, with the following hours:
Hours of Operation
- Mondays 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Tuesdays - 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Wednesday CLOSED
- Thursdays -8:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Fridays-8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Appointments
Vital Records office will be by appointment only during these hours.

Vital Records
The Prince George’s County Health Department provides walk-in service only. We issue birth certificates for anyone born in the State of Maryland AFTER 1939 and death certificates for individuals who died in Maryland AFTER 2015.
Individuals born prior to 1939 and who died prior to 2015 should contact the Maryland Department of Health's Vital Statistics Administration at 410-764-3038.
Birth Certificates
We issue birth certificates for anyone born in the State of Maryland AFTER 1939.

We issue death certificates for individuals who died in Maryland AFTER 2015.
