The Prince George’s County Volunteer Internship Program is an experiential learning program that integrates knowledge and theory learned in the classroom and enables the student to gain practical experience as a professional under conditions conducive to educational development. The program will consist of a six (6) month education and experiential learning process gained through hands-on experience working in a County agency. Applicants accepted into the program will be required to complete an orientation and sign a waiver of liability. Internship placements do not provide compensation.
Applicants seeking consideration must be enrolled in a trade school, community college, 4-year college/university or graduate program. Graduate student volunteer interns must be enrolled in a Masters, Doctoral, Law Degree or a Graduate Certificate Program of study.
Applicants will apply by submitting the following for program consideration: Resume, official transcripts reflecting current level of education, three (3) references, at least one of whom must be a faculty member or academic instructor. The references must include the full name, title, address, telephone number and email address for each reference. Finally, applicants must submit a double spaced 1-3 page essay detailing interest area, academic study and career objectives.
