FDA Advises Parents and Caregivers Not to Buy or Feed WanaBana Apple Cinnamon Fruit Puree Pouches to Toddlers and Young Children Because of Elevated Lead Levels

Recall

WanaBana USA is recalling all batches of WanaBana Apple Cinnamon Fruit Purée pouches because some of them have higher levels of lead. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has expanded the recall to include Weis and Schnucks-brand cinnamon applesauce pouches from WanaBana LLC. The FDA says lead is harmful to people, regardless of age or health. Protecting kids from lead exposure is crucial for their long-term health. It's hard to notice lead exposure in kids since they might not show immediate symptoms. If you think your child ate this product, talk to their healthcare provider about getting a blood lead test, as lead poisoning can only be confirmed through clinical testing.
